Why POCUS for Acute Medicine or Emergency Medicine?
A significant proportion of patients presenting with dyspnoea, hypotension, chest pain, abdominal pain, urinary retention, DVT suspicion, or procedural needs can benefit from bedside ultrasound assessment. Rather than waiting for formal imaging, POCUS can help answer focused clinical questions during the consultation.
